Our Mission
Let Me Lead Girls Conference is to create an intimate and open environment for intergenerational dialogue about the challenges facing young women of color in society and provide them with personal advice and tangible action steps on their personal path to becoming a woman.
Conference Vision
This years theme will be "Mental Health and The Movement," which will be achieved through 2 days of keynote speakers, small group workshops and plenary sessions. The middle and high school cohorts will explore the realities of being a young woman of color in today's society, and how positive mental health can impact and dictate their self-esteem and confidence, sexual health, relationships, and sisterhood. The sessions will be lead by professionals in each field who look like them in order to provide a safe environment, which will allow for real and honest interactions and dialogue. We are excited to welcome the mother/guardians on the 2nd half of the Sunday sessions to enhance our conversations about best practices and to support their young women.
How Shana Bryant Leads“During this conference, I gave back to my 16-year-old self [...] as a young girl I struggled with self-esteem and self-worth issues [...] it wasn’t until I learned to get out of my own way, seek therapy and work on my wellness-did things began to change. Women of Color sowed into my life, and I would like to do the same for other girls of color, my hope for the girls is that they leave knowing their own self-worth, become deliberate and intentional about their health and wellness and understand their triggers.”
